Week 9

This past week was mainly spent getting back into the swing of things after being on break for a week. The workload definitely hit hard, as I had an exam on Wednesday and the 2nd phase of the web project due Friday on top of my regular weekly assignments. It was definitely way more intense than I thought it would be. On the bright side, I received an internship offer that I accepted so I am glad that I will have something to do over the summer.

Since I was caught off guard by the amount of work I had to do last week, a lot of the work I did was very rushed and wasn’t the quality that I am satisfied with. I want to take the time to revisit what I did and revise it to make it better, especially with phase 2 of the web project.

Next week I want to get a jump start on the next phase of the web project to avoid the time crunch that happened in the last phase. I also have a project due for Compilers so I will need to work on that as well. Overall, this week should not be as stressful as the last one though, so that is nice.

This phase of the project was definitely a lot more complicated than we expected it to be. The fact that spring break occurred in the middle of this phase did not help, as the deadline caught us off-guard. I am on the front-end side of this project so I was tasked with learning React along with the various libraries used to work with our API data. Learning React itself wasn’t too difficult, most of the challenge came when requesting to the API and smoothly updating the data displayed.
