Stop Talking and Start Doing

Sexual assault is a rather disgustingly large epidemic which I’m sure you’re aware of — if not before, hopefully now because of the “Me Too” campaign that launched across social media. According to…

Fun things to do after moving to NYC

Manhattan, the source of all fun things to do after moving to NYC.

Taste the street food

There are plenty of phenomenal and tasty foods to try on the streets of NYC. You’ll soon discover that some of the main street foods in NYC are hotdogs, sandwiches, and pizzas.

If you prefer a good hotdog, one of the best places to visit is Katz’s. While it has a variety of dishes to try, many people go there solely to eat a hotdog. You can also check out Feltman’s, Hard Times Sundaes, PDT, The Cannibal, or McSorley’s Old Ale House.

You can taste some of the best hotdogs in NYC.

On another hand, if you prefer a good sandwich, head out to West-Bourne to try the Mushreuben. You won’t regret it! Furthermore, Cheeky Sandwiches and Ferdinando’s Foccaceria are some of my favorites.

When it comes to pizza, NewYorkers always argue which one is the best. Still, whether you go to John’s, Beebe’s, Denino’s or Louie & Ernie’s, you’ll taste amazing food. I challenge you to decide for yourself which one is the best!

Head out to Coney Island

Go to Coney Island via the Brooklyn Bridge. It is an attraction by itself.

On a more joyous note, Coney Island is a great place to start. While I always avoid the ride on the Wonder Wheel because I am afraid of heights, I always recommend it to people. However, if you are more like me and like having fun on the ground, take a stroll on the Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk, or visit the Coney Art Walls and Smorgasburg or Circus Sideshow.

Spend a day in Central Park

For me, one of the best places to visit for fun is Central Park. It is huge, and you can really make a day out of it. There are more than 30 activities you can do. Some of my favorites are the Central Park Zoo, Bethesda Fountain, Shakespeare Garden, and Belvedere Castle. You will also see a lot of sculptures, like Alice in Wonderland or Hans Cristian Anderson and Ugly Duckling. Finally, you can always rent a bike or row a boat on Central Park lake.

Visit Brooklyn

Explore the subway

Grand Central Terminal sees millions of people every day. Everyone is going somewhere, and it is by far the best way of transportation in NYC. However, if you stop for a moment and look around, you will see that it’s the true testament to the history of NYC. One of the fun things you can do is go to the Whispering Gallery, an amazing place that hides a secret! I won’t tell you which one, but the hint is in the name, you must find out for yourself!

Go see a musical

You can’t really live in NYC without going to a Broadway show. It is the cradle of musical theatre in New York, and it is worth every penny! Taste the history with your eyes, and watch some of the best musicals in today’s repertoire. Some of the more popular plays you can catch are Chicago, Wicked, and Hamilton. Just make sure that you get your tickets on time, or you might pass on this amazing experience!

Visit Film Forum

Film Forum is a place to visit if you wish to enjoy phenomenal independent movies. It is a nonprofit cinema opened in 1970, and it is one of the most popular cinemas in NYC. Broaden your horizons, and relax for an hour or two, watching exciting and educative movies.
