Cypress is an open-source JavaScript based testing framework which was initially released in 2015.even though this framework is relatively new it is rapidly growing with an expanding community. Cypress comes with a free, open source, Test Runner and a Dashboard Service for recording your tests.

cypress provides an unique interactive runner that allows you to see commands as they execute and also it allows viewing the application under test.

Cypress engine is directly operating inside the browser. Which means the browser is solely executing the code. This mechanism gives the ability for the framework to listen and modify the browser behavior while running the test by altering Network requests, responses and manipulating DOM elements in real time.

When considering the above mentioned factors Cypress is a powerful tool with some unique features built into it, offering solid capability for users to be able to maintain the quality standards of their web-application by building a good test automation suite. The reliability and efficiency of the test suite will be comparatively higher than other testing frameworks due to the less flakiness of Cypress.
