I do think that Alyssa had the best of intentions when she called upon people to share their stories of sexual assault on social media. It did bring attention the impeccable evils that so many people witness and it’s causing people to start thinking about the severity of the issue and how to help those that endure it. However, I personally don’t think that it needed to be handled in this way. It could’ve been thought out a little better. I do hope that this starts to bring direct actions to stop sexual assault. But, for now, there is a 24 hour help line and a few of many sources for those that have been violated below. Let’s bring change and help to those who need it without causing them anymore pain.
