Physical activity 1

Undertaking any kind of physical activity has always been a diversion for me. I don’t have an attention deficit or any medical condition related to this but the relative mundanity of everyday life has been hard at times. I have to feel that I’m moving forwards with purpose and exercise, training, team sports and the activity of learning and developing new sporting skills is something that ticks this box.

As I get older now, I can see that sport and exercise has helped me in so many ways. My mind is always sharper when I’m in good physical condition and working towards a goal of some kind. I’ve also used the opportunity to try different activities as a way to learn and develop new skills at frequent opportunities, such as swimming — something that I learned the basics of at a very young age but didn’t then work much harder at until my late 30's.
