3 Cool Things About Python

I had so much coffee this week. More than I should have but it helped me get through this chaotic week with code challenge so I say it was worth it.

Python was my first programming language when I first started coding and it was nice to revisit again in this phase. However, it was my first time learning about many-to-many class relationships although I’ve learned Python class before and it was definitely challenging but I did find some good things about Python.

Option 1 and 2 above have the same functionality but option 1 was written in a list comprehension and I like it because it can be written in just one line. No need to define an empty line or append. Whatever is being appended in option 2 comes first in the list comprehension.

I do like JavaScript’s ++ to add number and update the variable but in general, you type less with Python. JS and Python are used for different purposes but it’s nice to see pros and cons of different languages for future development of programming languages because at the end of the day, programming languages are constantly updated.

When you become comfortable with one programming language and try to learn another one or a library, it is hard to love it at first but there are good qualities and there are reasons why that particular language or a library was invented in the first place. We’ll be learning Flask in next Phase, which would be my second library to learn and I am a little bit scared to be honest because we are learning so much in so little time but once things seem to settle in in our brain, it is super exciting to see what we can do especially through the group projects at the end of each phase😊
