How to get crafty with your kids and have fun!

The clocks have turned back, the weather is getting colder and soon it will be dark by 4pm. All of this means you will be spending more time indoors with your kids over the next few months…

But don’t fear, The Wonder Mum is here! Over the next 5 weeks I will be showing you how you can get crafty at home with your kids with little or no advance prep, using items from your recycling box or easily sourced inexpensive materials.

Each week will be themed and I will share with you the output of my crafty sessions with my kids; get ready for some real photos of crafty creations my kids have made!

I would love to see your kid’s crafty creations too! Just use #CraftWithMum when you post. Also, you can search under #CraftWithMum to view all of my crafty posts over the next 5 weeks.

The emphasis is on having fun at home with your kids. It doesn’t matter if the finished product looks nothing like the photo on Pinterest! If your kids want to adapt and do it their way, let them explore their creativity. And have a go yourself; I’ve found that crafting is my mindful activity.

To help you get started, here is my top 10 list of craft items to have in your cupboard:

All of my top 10 items can be bought for around £1 and are easily available. My favourite shops are Wilko, The Works and the Pound shops. Start small and see how your kids take to crafting; if they enjoy it then you can add to your craft box over time.
